Glens Captain Willie Howie

Glens captain Willie Howie has handed the Loch Park club a huge boost by returning to the squad for pre-season training.

The former Partick Thistle midfielder was widely expected to return to senior football next season.

Stirling Albion and Stenhousemuir were reportedly interested in the 26-year-old.

But Boss Gordon Dalziel revealed to the Chronicle this week that the popular player has returned to pre season training.

Howie is expected to stay on at Loch Park for another season.
