Queen of the South ace Paul Burns reckons nearly missing his wonder second goal on Saturday was the best thing he could have done.

The Netherthird star netted as Queens upset the odds to beat Aberdeen and reach the final of the Scottish Cup in a Hampden thriller.

But Burns revealed afterwards that if he hadn't sclaffed his initial effort, he would have probably ended up in the crowd, earning a caution that would have ruled him out of the showpiece in May.
