BURNED MINI WAS CLASSIC

A couple who had their classic Mini stolen and set ablaze are offering a cash reward for information.

Amber and Robert O’Neil from Glenside Farm near Auchinleck had their 1985 Mini City E stolen on Tuesday September 23.

Mr O’Neil first noticed the car was missing the next day but it was his wife’s dad, Robert Beatson who found the burned-out shell of the car near Cronberry.

Previous owner, Mr Beatson told the Chronicle that he had spent a ‘small fortune’ restoring the Mini to ‘show potential’ and that the sight of the burned-out car made him feel sick.’

Mr and Mrs O’Neil’s insurance company are currently looking into the claim but the couple are offering a cash reward to anybody who was information on the

car’s theft and vandalism.

Mr O’Neil said: “If anybody has any information that could lead to a conviction we would gladly reward them.”
