NEW SPECIES OF BAT FOUND

Batman may be flying high in the box office charts but there is also a evidence that the creature which inspired the comic book hero is doing well in East Ayrshire.
And workers in East Ayrshire have stumbled across a new species during their annual survey, flying in the way of national fears that bats were on the decline.
However, while numbers are reported to still be good there is a warning that people are still unwittingly committing crimes by disturbing bat roosts.
