FUEL THEFT CRIME WAVE
By Craig Winning
High cost of petrol may have prompted a series of petrol thefts from private vehicles.
Rocketing fuel costs could be forcing desperate motorists to turn to crime.
A spate of fuel thefts have hit Auchinleck in the past week, with two incidents reported in one night.
The thefts follow an incident last week in which a petrol station in Sanquhar was ripped off.
One of the Auchinleck victims is now concerned that the high prices at the pumps could be the reason behind the recent spate of thefts.
