By Sandy Kilpatrick

A shocked son has blasted carers, claiming his 81-year-old dad's life was put at risk when they did not turn up to administer vital medication.

Auchinleck man Iain Haining has complained about the work of contracted carers Independent Living Scotland (ILS) to East Ayrshire Council's Social Work Department, who have launched an investigation.

Mr Haining says that ILS were brought in to provide home care help for his dad, who suffers from alzheimers and angina, but on two separate occasions they failed to show to give him his pills.

Mr Haining has also started up a petition to find out if others have been affected.
