FILM BOOST IS STILL POSSIBLE
By Craig Winning
A local councillor has insisted hopes of a major film being shot in the area are not dead in the water yet - despite Dumfries and Galloway Council asking the film company to hand back funding.
Upper Nithsdale Councillor Gill Dykes remains hopeful that filming of 'Cowboys for Christ', which is to star screen legend Christopher Lee, can still go ahead, even though CFC Film Limited has agreed to hand back the £15,000 they received from the Council for filming rights.
The movie, based on a Robin Hardy novel, was to be screened in parts of Upper Nithsdale, including an area near Sanquhar.
