TOWN CENTRE PLANS SUFFER NEW BLOW
By Roddie McVake
The Cumnock town centre redevelopment project has been dealt a blow with the news that Jobcentre Plus has decided against moving into one of the new offices.
And the Chronicle understands the slow-progress of the development work ensured Jobcentre Plus had no choice but to pull out of the proposed move.
The organisation would have moved from their existing Townhead Street base to one of the development's flagship offices, but they will now stay where they are and upgrade their own facilities.
However, East Ayrshire Council doesn't believe there will be any major impact from Jobcentre Plus's decision.
